Lock completely stopped working and keys no longer work August 30, 2010 Diana Romero (San Diego, CA) This box worked fine for a awhile. Recently, the lock on it stopped functioning and neither of the two keys work. All my personal information including my checks and birth certificate are inside. This should NOT have happened.
Great Item July 22, 2010 CJ Everyone needs one of these, don't wait until its too late. Very nice product, excellent seller!
First Alert File and Water File Chest April 22, 2010 Randall J. Louis (Michigan) Easy to use, good seal and lock set up. Lots of room for papers and files.
Provides security February 6, 2010 D. W. Fort I bought this for my daughter after there was a fire at her apartment complex. She wanted something she could keep her important papers in that would be safe from both fire and the sprinkler system. You can also keep your computer back up disk in it. I have one myself and I've been very satisfied with it.
Second One Was A-OK January 6, 2010 WWiley (Texas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
First unit shipped in it's store display carton without any packing and received badly damaged - it is heavy and obviously had been dropped on just about every corner, breaking the outer cover and exposing insulation.
Called Amazon, they wanted me to return USPS before sending new replacement unit. Explained this case weighted almost 40 Lbs. and no way was I shipping USPS and requested a UPS or FedEx prepaid shipping label. It was determined at that point to throw it in the garbage as it was going to cost more to ship it than I paid for it.
Amazon sent me replacement unit, well packed and received in perfect condition. Can't say whether it is actually fireproof and hope I never find out, but it is well constructed and well insulated, and did I mention heavy?
