very tight May 18, 2010 S. Morrison (PA) Bought these to fit cd's and cd booklets, one on each side. They barely fit the cd's alone and forget about the booklets!
+ 1/2 star: this does the job well April 24, 2010 Matthew G. Sherwin (last seen screaming at Amazon customer service) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These double-sided CD/DVD storage sleeves by Fellowes are wonderful! They can hold a LOT of CDs and/or DVDs in a very small amount of space and they are an immeasurable help when you want to keep them organized or in just one small space instead of having them lying around all over the house (as I had at one point)! The see-through sleeve is made of vinyl and it just plain feels as if it will last a long time.
The sleeve does indeed have a little extra space for a title; and I like that. One reviewer notes that this extra space can become a minor problem--if the Ideastream or any other similarly sized CD/DVD sleeve holder box is full, you just may have to push the title space back to make the CD/DVD sleeves fit inside the box. I got around this by using a slightly larger box that I found in a local store.
There's very little I can say that's negative about these sleeves. They should have cut the finger-hole opening into a deeper "U" shape instead of the smaller keyhole shape but that's about it.
I recommend this product for anyone who wants to organize CDs and DVDs.
Perfect! April 17, 2010 Neely O'Hara (San Francisco) These are the best double-sided sleeves I have found. They are very sturdy: The transparent sleeve is made of vinyl, as opposed to the thin, flimsy, and cheap sort I have purchased in the past. Another nicety is that the extraneous plastic from the die-cut holes are already removed so you do not have to punch them out. The soft-center is also a bit better quality
The sturdy tab can be used for labeling (box comes with paper inserts, or you could just write on it with a Sharpie). But, because it's fairly strong, it could also be punched with holes if you wanted to use them binder-style, it is rigid enough that it would not tear. It can also be trimmed off without weakening the structure of the remaining sleeve.
All these may seem like minor qualities, but if you have a lot of disks to store and protect, this is good buy (only about 20 cents per sleeve). Sleeves with a similar quality (like DicsSox) cost $1 each or more.
snug fit March 15, 2010 beesquare (FALLS CHURCH, VA United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
On the good side, the sleeve material is sturdy. It is easy to slide the label into its pocket in the tab on top of the sleeve... you don't need a black plastic insertion tool like you do with other brands. On the bad side, the fit is just too snug. The CD or DVD will never fall out, but it takes some force to get it in and out. The booklet doesn't fit flat unless you trim about an eighth of an inch off the right side of it. The pictures in the listing make it look like the CD fits loosely and the booklet fits fine... not so. I have upload some photos that I took to show you that the fit is too snug.
Great product October 31, 2009 bizzybee (Los Angeles, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I needed to make space and got rid of all my DVDs bulky plastic covers, so I looked for some good CD/DVD sleeves to protect them. I got my first batch of DVD sleeves at Staples, they were good but also quite expensive. Then I found those on Amazon, and figured I'd give it a try. Result: I love those sleeves - they are durable, easy to organize, protect well and are a great value. The double-sided feature is great as it saves even more space. A really good purchase.
