Neat system September 8, 2010 eyez wide open Hard to find any fault with these units. Simply an awesome system for storing a lot of DVD's CD's etc. Very functional. I have tested it over and over and it never fails to not only hand me the move, but the right movie. The software to create the indexes is decent but could probably be even better. I look forward to seeing what innovations they do on it. I got 2 Selector 100's and put all my DVD's in them alphabetically across both units. Removed and stored away all the artwork and menu sheets, then donated the empty cases to my local library. They were happy to get them. The only regret I have is that I didn't purchase 4 of these and leave about 2 blank spaces between each movie for future expansion while maintaining an alphabetical system. One thing I don't like is that the unit is a bit hard to use due to having to point the slider at very small numbers. I can visualize these things having some sort of digial readout that tells you what number you are pointing at. Of course the pricepoint would be much higher. For now, very happy. Wobbly old prepac DVD cabinet GONE. These small boxes now rule.
OK storage solution September 7, 2010 Christy This is an "ok" storage solution. I do not access my cd's much, but I could see that with lots of use the product may not be up to the challenge. Looks nice on a shelf, much nicer than stacks of disks.
So far working wonderfully August 27, 2010 margaret west So far, it is working great and I just ordered 2 more. I did end up using my own spreadsheet in Excel instead of the website they gave, as I can't organize them when I want to find one quickly (for example, if I want to watch a certain movie, it's faster to sort by columns in Excel for title than look through the drawer in the bottom). I did learn the hard way not to organize in a way that requires reorganization. This might seem logical to everyone else, and in hindsight I agree. Initially, though, I made the mistake of trying to organize alphabetically, but when I went to add another "H" in the middle, it took quite some time to take the discs out and move them down 1. Now I let Excel do the organizing and I simply place them in as they come (still fighting OCD on this...)
I didn't rate style because I just don't care about that, so I don't want to mislead anyone. The construction quality seems that of anything made today: it's going to last until it breaks and when that is is anyone's guess. I love that I can stack them and it's much easier to dust the entertainment center now. I looked into buying one of the computer programmable organizers and am now so glad I didn't. Even if the little selector breaks, I can still get to my discs in an organized fashion.
Please try to find a place to recycle your old CD and DVD containers. I was surprised how many I had, and they weren't as difficult to recycle as I imagined. And I will never have to move with them again!
Organization at its best! August 24, 2010 Happy in Hawaii Was everything I could have imagined this product to be. It is ready to use
right out of the box. The most time consuming issue was creating an inventory of all of my dvds and taking them out of their jackets. But, it was well worth it. I now have lots of space on my bookshelves. Great product. My family was amazed at the sleek style of the cases and how many dvds they hold. I know what I will be giving as Christmas presents this year. Amazon offered free shipping of this product, awesome.
Another excellent product by Discgear August 10, 2010 T. Nicol (Wesley Chapel, FL) I have been using Discgear products for years. This latest purchase was another winner. I now have 6 CD/DVD holders and have never been happier with the product. Now, if Discgear would only produce more of the [3 holder] racks, I would be placing more orders.
