It's not some crazy contraption, just holds the tapes. I thought the price was very steep, and it might be still, but the construction is VERY solid. Shipping was faster than indicated, which was a pleasant surprise. I would buy this again... if I could afford it.

I'm a part time videographer, and this thing is perfect for storing my mini dv tapes. It was so perfect that I bought 2.

These work wonderful. Before I had purchased these I had my tapes sitting in piles all over the place. If you want to get organized and clear up some of the clutter this is a great product. Keeps the tapes safe and secure.
